Rainy day Tuesday

What a blahhhh day.  There isn’t enough chocolate in the world to perk me up today.

We had quite the adventure yesterday.  Leith was driving to the car dealership to pick up Constance (and me) when he was run up a concrete embankment as he tried to clear an intersection!  With my babeez in the backseat no less!  The idiot who hit him called Leith in on a hit-and-run and followed him all the way to the south side, running a red light in the process.  What an idiot!!  Thank god my babeez (and husband) weren’t hurt.  The police pulled Leith over but fortunately it was his word against the idiot’s so they didn’t file a report.
I can’t believe how stupid some people are.
THEN, today another idiot BLEW through a stop sign and I literally stopped inches from where he had been!  He was going about 70-80kph in our neighborhood!  Constance has some wonderful brakes and I have some wicked reflexes!!  I’m feeling like a momma-bear, just riled up over the safety of my babeez – god help the person who ever actually hurts them.
Here’s hoping tomorrow perks up.

Needs work…

I can currently do 5 non-girlie push-ups.

Looks like I have a long way to go to get to my goal of 50, hey?  My world-record for girlie push-ups in 19 (I think).
Whyyyy did I pick this?
At least I have 2 years to get there…

Pandelerium!

I need a dream interpreter…

For the past 2 nights, I have woken up with wicked tension headaches!  They are the worst headaches that I have ever experienced and it takes me awhile to get back to sleep.  I woke up with another one this afternoon and I’ve finally found the link:
I’ve been having these weird dreams where I am having major confrontations with various (for lack of a better description) white trash characters!  Oh, that sounds so awful…  But seriously, they are the Wal-mart, southern-states, trailer park style and we have these huge fights.  I don’t even know these people!  They don’t look like anyone I know or have run into.  I am so aggravated by them and the things they do.  They undermine me, they irritate me, they argue.  They are awful people and I wake up with my head pounding.  I feel so awful and torn-up that I can’t get back to sleep.
Any ideas?

Graitudes

Yesterday was the perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday – good times with good friends and 4 babies that weren’t here at Christmas :)  It was the perfect end to the week!

This week, I am grateful for:
-meeting that beautiful little Ellis girl.  The third Muskateer is here and she is absolutely wonderful.  She has fingers and toes for days and hair that has both my girls green with envy.  She is just under 7lbs and it’s funny – I can’t remember the girls being that small, especially another TWO pounds smaller than that.  Time has flown way too fast.  My babeez look like real little girls next to all her newborn goodness.
-that Mama and Papa Ellis are doing so well.  They look so good, and they seem happy and relaxed.  Keep up the good work guys!!
-a visit from Melissa and her boys.  We don’t see each other nearly enough and I have seen her FOUR times since the girls were born!
-for cinnamon buns and No Name brand pop tarts, which start my day of with a sugary BANG
-for 3 replies to my Kijiji ad.  Here’s hoping for a few more because I REALLY need the $$.
-the squeals that Kit-Kat has discovered.  I’m not sure if it is a gratitude at 3am, but it sure is neat!  And they have both discovered their toes this week and are turning into little gymnasts
-that I did actually get my butt moving and clean the house on Saturday.  Leith never did wash my floors though… and I still need to dust and clean off the kitchen table of all my clutter.
-for finding $126 in my savings account, which means I can take the advanced photography class this fall!  Woo hoo!  Now I just need to discover another $75 before October…

I’m off to work at 1pm today.  I think I am going to try to go for a run after.  I haven’t run since LAST Friday!  Boo to that.  So much for running the ING 10k this August.  Next week I am going to move my 5k runs from 4:1s to 10:1s.  It’s time.
Tomorrow is a big sit-at-home day.  I am taking Constance back to the dealership for her “delivery cleaning”, so I will be carless all day.  I’m planning on working on (finishing…?) my final photography project and studying for my final.  The final is all about Photoshop processes, which I barely use, so I am much more worried about this exam than I was about the midterm.
Have a good Monday :)

Don’t wanna clean

I am procrastinating…  I really have nothing to write about today, but I have a house-cleaning to-do list that is 10-pages long and I really hate cleaning.  I’m trying to think of how to trick my husband into washing the floors for me…  Any ideas?

I am SO excited to (hopefully) meet the new Ellis tomorrow!  So are the girls :)  They are so happy to have a third Muskateer, because the Two Muskateers sounded pretty lame!

I found that there is no “good time” to shop at StupidStore.  We went to buy groceries at 9pm last night, thinking that there would be no one there.  Wrong!  It’s still packed, although to a lesser degree, and there are still certain people who have NO concept of personal space, manners, social aptitude of any degree…  God I hate that place.
I hate it almost as much as I hate the Indy car races going on this weekend.  Boo to the Indy!  They start warming up the cars at about 7:30am.  Seriously.  SO LOUD!  I hate them.  I know hate is a strong word, which is why I save it for describing my feelings about the Indy weekend.

I posted an ad on Kijiji.ca this past week with the hopes of recruiting some personal training clients.  I need to bring on another 5 clients to train with me twice a week.  I can sit around waiting for new member referrals at work, but they aren’t guaranteed to result in a training commitment.  I’d rather find people who are specifically looking for personal training.  It costs me $6.50 for 2 hours of childcare, and I only get paid $10 per consultation so I really need those consults to result in a training contract.  That sounds so cold!  I don’t like looking at training in terms of “sales” but I guess that is what puts food on the table, right?
So far, I have had 3 people contact me.  One sounded promising for sure.  The other two were more interested in rates.  Hopefully they will e-mail me to set up a consultation!
If you know of anyone…  :)  I am filling spots on M/T/W/Th mornings and T/Th evenings.  Hint hint…
Okay, I’m going to clean my kitchen now.
And yes, the need to bring on clients is directly related to my minivan of doom/photography course obsession…

Friiiiday

Finally Friday, free again!

Wait, I don’t work…never mind.  What day is it today??
Omg.  Will?  Poor sweet Will?  I don’t normally cry over reality TV, but oh how I cried when Will left SYTYCD last night.  Why???  Mark stayed, even he was shocked.  I have to agree with the thousands who say that the judges should still have the final say…

Once again, there is no Feast!  I’m not sure what’s up over there, but Miz Booshay at  A Quiet Life has made her own Feast this week.  I feel a little weird lifting it, but I have this strange urge to answer random questions on Fridays… SO:
What is your favorite cheese?
I don’t have a favorite per se.  I have a rule: the stinkier, the better!  Yum.  And there used to be a raspberry goat cheese at the old Debaji’s that was to die for.
Do you drink beer?  If so, what brand?
I do drink beer.  I don’t drink it often, but I have favorites for sure.  I’m not a big mass-produced domestic girl, but I will drink Kokanee.  I like my Corona in the hot summer sun, I love the raspberry ale at Brewster’s, and there was a pumpkin ale at the Grizzly Paw last fall that was incredible!  And I’ve even had a Guiness :)
Do you own a pair of moccasins?
No.  I used to have “authentic” ones when I was little and obsessed with all things pioneer (yes, I know that moccasins are Indian, not pioneer, but it’s all frontier baby!).  I was actually terrified of them and used to hide them in my closet because they smelled like smoke and I used to be ridiculously afraid of house fires!
Which is your favorite Little House on the Prairie book?
Oh, what a perfect follow-up question!  Without a doubt, I loved Little Town on the Prairie the most.  No hardships, just happy times.  I loved these books more than anything else I have ever read in my life.  I watched the show religiously every afternoon at 4pm.  I had a pioneer dress that my mom actually let me wear to school on square-dance day (oh my god, mom how could you let me do that?!?).  I went to day camp at Heritage Park and thought I’d died and gone to heaven.  I had a rag-doll named Laura that I literally brought EVERYWHERE with me, her hand fell off, her hair fell out 3 times, her face has been redone…loved Little House on the Prairie :)
Who will Brett Favre be playing football for this fall?
What??  Who is Brett Favre?  I don’t have an answer for this one.

Meanwhile, I am settling in for a lovely day of hanging out with my favorite babeez.  I love how happy they are in the mornings!  We have an unplanned weekend unfolding in front of us.  Hopefully we will get to meet a certain little newborn… and take some pictures?
Have a good weekend!

So You Think You Can…

…vote??

Seriously, how did Twitch AND Will end up in the bottom four??  I am in shock.  I cried when Twitch cried, seriously!!
I thought that Mark would be gone for sure.  After that foxtrot?!?!  And why is Courtney in the bottom four?  She is un-frickin-believable…
Gahhhhhhhhh.  The world is ending.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Happy one-day birthday to the newest Ellis!

We can’t wait to meet you sweet-pea :)
love,
Meaghan, Leith, Kathryn & Chelsea
PS, Leith is very glad that you are a girl, because it’s one less boy in the world to protect his daughters from :)
