Time flies….

I’ve been processing 8 months of babee photos lately, with hopes of getting them printed soon so that I can start their babee albums.  I love watching them grow, and a few favorites have emerged:

our sweet, sensitive Kit-kat
such beautiful eyes!

the typical C-boo look … still makes me snort 6 months later!!
gawd, those eyes!!!

how to tell the photo shoot is DONE…

More to come, I’m sure, as I stroll down memory lane :)

Friday 5

1.  What profession do you believe to be overpaid?
_uacct = “UA-4888259-1″;
urchinTracker();

Um, any professional sports teams/players.  Ridiculous.  And entertainers – not small-time, struggling-to-pay-the-rent entertainers, but the Hollywood multi-millionaires.
2.  Who is a musician you believe to be over-rated?
Carrie Underwood.  I’m sorry, but I really can’t stand her.
3.  What in your life could stand to be overhauled?
My time-management skills and my motivation.  And my azz.
4.  What is something interesting that you recently overheard?
That they are researching a link between increased cough medicine use and increased rates of ADD/ADHD in children.
5.  Who is the most overextended person you know?
Overextended meaning “takes on too much”?  Um, me… and my mom.  Definitely my mom.

Guess what?  I was going to repent on my post about Leith from yesterday.  But he forgot his cell phone at home AGAIN today.  Ok, he didn’t forget it, but he left it plugged in at home to charge.
I give up…
Apparently, writing “Meaghan has a retarded husband” as my Facebook status resulted in me not getting flowers last night.  Boo.  Whatever.  The ball is in MY court again.
PS:  a big “THANK YOU” to David & Goliath for creating the artwork that fuels these rants :o )
PPS:  He really is a wonderful husband, and I say this all in jest.  He made me a wonderful dinner last night, which I am enjoying as left-overs for lunch today!

I deserve this why?

My husband is a cell-phone retard.

I mean that in the nicest way possible.
But honestly, in the past month, he has left his phone at home at least once a week.  It wouldn’t be that bad if he wasn’t working out of town.  I’ve yelled and screamed and thrown hissy fits about it…
He’s busted more phones than I’ve ever owned.  The last one actually lasted almost 2 years, but he jumped in a pool this summer with it in his pocket…
He now has my old phone.  He had it activated for a week, maybe 2, before he stepped on it.  It still works.
I know this because I just had to add ‘Kid Find‘ to our cell phone plan.  He left his phone behind and wasn’t sure where.  So I had to go all Veronica Mars and track it via GPS.  (*bonus: I can now find him when he doesn’t come home after hockey games and the like!  hee hee hee)
Now, he has to backtrack THREE HOURS to go pick the damn thing up.
Honestly.  I love him, I really do.  This post should have been about our 4 years together (as of today!), and how wonderful it’s been.  Instead, it’s about a phone.
He has proved that which we all know:

Eep!

I love bath time!  Apparently, Kit-kat and C-boo do too!

(always happiest when we’re nakers!)

(nice hair!)

(no, she isn’t falling out of the crib…she is contentedly
chewing on the railing with her new tooth…)

Life doesn’t get much better than this.
:o )

So Busy!

I’m still here, I swear!  I feel like I have been going non-stop for weeks now.  It seems like I only post my Gratitudes (late) and my Friday meme (late) these days…  Although I guess I do make up for it by posting 2 or 3 times a day once in a while :)

_uacct = “UA-4888259-1″;

What I’m working on:
-babee-rearing
-training, sometimes 4 clients a day!
-hurriedly trying to finish the first Christmas stocking, so that I can hurriedly get the 2nd one done!!
-making a mess of my house, and not having the time to clean it…
-choreographing a solo, as well as my teen group
-Christmas shopping!
-photo this-that-and-the-other thing!  I did a shoot this past weekend, with 2 more coming up, plus I am trying to process a whole bunch of RAW photos of the babeez to put into their baby books…
Maybe I take on too much sometimes … I need a mini-break.

Gratitudes

What a week!  The babeez launched a full-scale attack on Tuesday … then they screamed ALL night last night… I have never been so happy for a week to be over!
_uacct = “UA-4888259-1″;
urchinTracker();

Let’s get started:
-The week is over.  I’m still alive.
-I went for a suh-weet (and long overdue) massage on Thursday morning.  Thanks must be given to the husband for spotting me $60… And I am so grateful that I work at a gym with a spa, so that I can leave the babeez in childcare while I get pampered!
-We had a fun photo shoot at the Funhouse yesterday, and we did not get blown away.  Almost…
(Sherrie is gonna kill me for posting that…but it was funny!)
-The 2 upcoming photo shoots that will put a little extra Christmas cash in my pocket!
-My solo choreography was cancelled today.  Phew.  After last night, I needed a day of rest.
-A NEW TOOTH!  One for C-boo, poking through on the bottom left with another on it’s tail.  26.5 more to go… And 28 more to go for Kit-kat.
-Gerber banana puffs.
-The most beautifullest (not a word…), sweetest, whimsical Baby’s First Christmas ornaments ever!!!  I must post a photo of them…
And THANK GOD that the week is over!

Fridays!

I am being really lazy with my posts lately … I’m sorry.
_uacct = “UA-4888259-1″;

It’s the day-after-Friday post!
1.  The last band I saw live was _____.
Oh my.  I’m not sure if I remember!!  I know that I went to Calgary last July, with my mom, to see Reba.  I think that is the last concert…but the year and a half since then is such a blur that I can’t say for sure!

2.  What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is _____.  (If you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, insert your favorite holiday)
Thanksgiving isn’t really a big deal up here, and it’s long past.  I really, really look forward to Christmas.  Although my dad would beg to differ, the part I look forward to most is the GIVING of presents.  I love thinking of things to find for people (as stressful and panicked as it can become…), I looove wrapping gifts, and I love waiting to see the reactions when they are opened.  There are a million other things that I love about Christmas, but gift-giving is the best.
3.  My Christmas/holiday shopping is _____.
My Christmas shopping is half done.  -Ish.  I have my dad’s gift.  I have most of my mom’s gift.  I know what I am getting for most people, but I have yet to go and actually purchase it.  I am waiting for Leith’s gift to arrive in the mail.  I have been shopping for the girls non-stop.  :)  They will be spoiled, because like I said, I love buying gifts.  I am still looking for some very special ornaments for them, as well as some special gifts that will just be from Momma and Daddy.
On a side note, I’m not going to either of my work-related Christmas parties this year.  I always struggle to find something nice for under $20, and it’s stressful and an expense that I really don’t want this year.  So much cheer and joy to my co-workers, but you’ll all have to have a drink in my absence.
4.  Thoughts of _____ fill my head.
Thoughts of photography fill my head.  I have a photo shoot this afternoon (and the next 2 Saturdays as well!).  We need to re-do our family pictures from last weekend.  I need to come up with a final assignment for my course next week.
5.  I wish I could wear _____.
I wish I could wear hats.  I have one toque that I wear that I don’t look like a complete dork in.  However, my hair is shorter again, so it does look dumb and gives me wicked flat-head.  I wish I could wear hats.
6.  Bagpipes _____.
Bagpipes are awesome!  I love bagpipes.  They give me chills.  The ‘Braveheart’ soundtrack was constantly in my CD player when I was younger.  The sound is just so haunting and rich at the same time.
7.  And as for the weekend, tonight, I’m looking forward to _____.  Tomorrow, my plans include _____.  On Sunday, I want to _____.
Had I actually posted this yesterday, it would have read:  Tonight, I’m looking forward to doing nothing.  Tomorrow, my plans include a photo-trek, photo-shoot and spaghetti dinner.  On Sunday, I want to re-do our family pictures.
TODAY, it actually reads:  Tonight, I’m looking forward to watching season 3 of V-Mars with Leith.  Tomorrow (which is now today…), my plans include giving the babeez a bath, going on a hunt for some photo albums, a photo shoot and a spaghetti dinner.  On Sunday, I still want to do our family pictures, but we aren’t, so I want to work on the Christmas stockings and clean the bathroom.  Woo.
Okay, babeez are revolting again, full screams.  Must jet.

Gratitudes on a Tuesday??

Okay, okay, I am really late in getting this post up … I’ve been dragging my butt for days now.
_uacct = “UA-4888259-1″;
urchinTracker();

But I have surprise morning off today!  Both my clients had to cancel, so I am going to get caught up on a LOT of things.  Mostly cleaning and working on the girls’ stockings, but also photographing ice cream.
Yes, it’s exciting.  Please try to contain your enthusiasm.
GRATITUDES:
-Leith is finally home, at least until next Monday.  He is working, obviously, and I am still working just as much, and I don’t ask him to get up during the night … but just having him here is a big relief.
-Listening to the babeez chatter away.  I love it!  I LOVE IT!  It is sweet music to my ears.
-”Chicken Fried” by the Zac Brown Band.  Download it.  Good, old-fashioned, down-home country.  And the girls love it!  They can be mid-meltdown and turn to full smiles if I put it on!
-A new song and new choreography for my teen jazz class.  I was feeling really stuck with Crazy Train, when I came across an old Aretha Franklin song that just WORKS on so many levels.  I’m lovin’ it!
-Fresh bread, toasted with butter and Nutella.  Really, anything with Nutella is a reason to be grateful!
**that was a bad sentence, but I’m too lazy to fix it**

-2 photo shoots booked at the end of the month.  Yay to Christmas money :)
-A-freakin-dorable holiday outfits for the babeez, all on sale at The Children’s Place.
-My dad took the time to shoot our family picture this weekend, but Leith’s hair was dorky and the girls refused to smile, so we’ll have to try again this weekend!  I, on the other hand, looked stunning.  Just sayin’…

Saturday feast

Appetizer:

What are you looking forward to the most in the next week?

_uacct = “UA-4888259-1″;
urchinTracker();

Oh, that’s sad.  I can’t think of anything that I am looking forward to!  I am curious to see how I make out with my ice cream shoot…  But there must be something that I am excited for!  Maybe I just can’t remember…
Salad:
What would you do if you knew you could not fail?
Shhh… I would go back to school for photography.  Eep!  Only if I were guaranteed success in my own eyes, because I still have that lack of confidence in my artistic ability.  Especially when surrounded by artsy-fartsy people.
Dinner:
If you could choose to get rid of one animal on Earth, which would you choose?
Do insects count?  ’Cuz there are these things called arachnids…  We don’t speak of them…
Dessert:
If your life were a made-for-TV program, would it be a reality show, sit-com, documentary, talk show, drama or cartoon?
Reality…or really boring documentary.  There is no slapstick comedy, or heart-warming music, or predictable one-liners.  There are no brother’s-sister’s-cousin’s-dead-wife-coming-back-to-life surprises.  No confrontational show-downs.  And we’re too dull for cartoon-land.
Sorry for the delay.  Yesterday and today just kind of feel dull and brown.  Blaaaahhhhhh.
Maybe Monday will be sparkly?
