1000

1000 posts.

That’s a lot of rambling to put up with over the last 4+ years. It’s a little over 250 posts each year. You’ve listened to me ramble a lot.

Sometimes, it’s been inane mutterings. Sometimes, I’ve actually had something good to say. I’ve covered the gamut, from breastfeeding to mom-formula, from policing to cancer, from twins to contraception. It’s never boring around here!

I’ve fought with my Christmas tree and with my demons. I’ve moved and changed jobs. Myyyy, how I’ve changed jobs! I’ve baked and cooked and gardened. I’ve made cheese. I’ve been through not one, but two 101 in 1001 lists. Well…the first one ended in defeat, and the second is still in progress.

I’ve travelled alone and with my husband, and even with my kids. I’ve taken pictures along the way, and journaled my way through life. I’ve made good choices and bad choices. I’ve even made really bad choicesI’ve told my story.

And along the way, I’ve developed some fabulous friendship through the ether. I’ve cultivated relationships and poured my heart to my readers, who have loved me and accepted me with open arms for the most part.

So, to thank you for this, I’m having a little giveaway:

Leave me a comment on this milestone post about your favourite MagzD post in the past 4.5 years.

Let me know what your favourite charity is as well, and in one week, I will draw a random comment. I will give $100 to that commenter’s charity, and $100 to the Canadian Cancer Society as well.

You know, just to say thanks for putting up with me. Xoxo.

  1. I always make a point to read your blog posts when they pop up, but I’d have to say my FAVORITE post was the one about watching SYTYCD with your girls. The emotion in it was overwhelming, I was streaming tears down my face at the end of it. You have such a great voice in your writing. If my comment gets drawn, I’d like you to just donate $200 to the Canadian Cancer Society

  2. Hi Magz,
This is actually my favourite post (thought I loved the recent one about your little swimmers). I just started twitter in May so I am just catching up. I look forward to more connections in the near future.
    With care,
    Joanne

  3. My favorite was your post about the journey throughout your pregnancy right up to the hard weeks after your girls were born. It was the post that made me realize how lucky I am and how strong I would like to be. You never cease to make me laugh, cry and sometimes even both. You are an amazing person. If my post gets drawn I would like you to put $100 towards the diabetes fund or heart and stroke foundation. Both are very close to my heart. Love you

  4. This is a great idea. I`ve only started reading recently, but I love your honestly (and sense of humour!) My favourite post was the one about taking everything out of your girls` room. I think every parent knows EXACTLY how you felt.. Lots of life lessons for kids and parents in that story :)

My charity of choice is Canadian Diabetes Association.

  5. I can’t pick one. There are too many. But the one that really stands out in my head is the one where you took away your girls bedroom toys. I feel like it’s the first post where I started to really ‘get’ you, if that makes any sense. Anyway, love them and love you!

And if I’m chosen, my charity of choice is always the Canadian Cancer Society. Their money and research saved my life, and I hope they get to continue saving more for years to come. <3

  6. My favorite post (s) are the ones about you moving to the acerage and renovating your “new place”. I love watching it take shape!

My charity is the Stollery. Hope to never need them but don’t know what we would do without them!

  7. My favorite post are the ones with me in them. LOL! Kidding :)

Mine would be a toss up of the post where you took all of your girls stuff away (funny, honest and OMG! I’ve been there) and the post where you felt like you got your dancing groove back in Vegas. So inspiring. I love seeing people find their calling.

To be self servant, I’m raising money for the Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Bust a Move next year and I could really use money towards it. Also, I’ll rope you into joining my team- Hello Titties and we can share the money raised as a team. Just sayin :)
